While many Canadian motocross teams have been enjoying some post Motocross Nationals down time, Rockstar Energy Drink OTSFF Yamaha has been busy lining up new sponsors for the 2015 season and preparing for the MEC Supercross at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas.
Hot on the heels of signing Matt Goerke for the 2015 CMRC MX1 National Motocross Championship Series, Team Rockstar Energy Drink OTSFF Yamaha is pleased to announce the recent negotiation of multi-year sponsorship contracts with Pirelli Tires and ODI MX Handlebars. In addition to Goerke making his debut with the team in Vegas on October 18th, Pirelli and ODI will be featured as new team sponsors.
“I’m totally excited with these developments. Matt is a proven champion and Pirelli and ODI are proven manufacturers of consumer and competition products that are second to none,” said OTSFF’s Andre Laurin. “For me personally, it’s great to have Pirelli back in the fold, as they were tire suppliers for my team efforts from 2004 until some three years ago, when they pulled out of motocross sponsorship in North America. Having ODI Handlebars come aboard is massive for us, as it was an area that we were rather weak, we were missing that element in the past. Now we have the world leader in motocross handlebars and grips.”
Over one hundred years tire technology experience has enabled Pirelli to combine in their products maximum levels of security, longevity, comfort and attention to the environment. Milan, Italy based Pirelli has been sponsoring motorsport competitions since 1907 and is currently the exclusive tire supplier for the Formula One Championship as well as the FIM World Superbike Championship.
“We’re proud to be back with OTSFF. They are a first class Canadian racing team. We have enjoyed working with Andre Laurin and his staff in the past, and are proud to be partnered with the first class race program OTSFF offers. I think this is reflected by the fact we have entered into a multi-year agreement to be the exclusive tire for the team,” said Josh Whitmire, Pirelli’s NAFTA Off-Road Race Manager.
Over the past 25 years, Riverside, California based ODI has been dedicated to providing the best there is in handlebar and grips technology. This includes the company’s proprietary compounds, which have been extensively researched and tested by top athletes around the world to ensure the highest level of comfort and longevity possible.
“We’ve known OTSFF’s highly professional operation for years, having sponsored the company’s motocross teams with various products in the past as well as currently. With the signing of Matt Goerke, whose choice of handlebars is ODI, and Pacesports being ODI’s Canadian distributor, it was really a no-brainer to get involved with Rockstar OTSFF Yamaha as the team’s handlebar supplier,” said Derek Farthing, President of Pacesports. “Based on our longstanding relationship with OTSFF, we’re excited about this aspect of our involvement with the team. It’s a good move for us. We couldn’t be happier having a rider like Matt on the team. We couldn’t be happier with what he brings promotional wise. We’re putting a good product on a good athlete.”
